Is the real world starting to get you down? Do you need some R&R with your camp friends? Good news: Reunion is just around the corner.
Use this guide to prepare for a weekend in 21719.
Parking
You may drop your stuff off at your bunk, but you must park your car in the lot outside of camp. Please do not park on any grass or walkways (an emergency vehicle must be able to drive through camp). If you need to park inside the gate, please contact Jennie Cohen at jenniec@camplouisecircle.org to reserve a spot in the Dining Hall parking lot.
Check-In
You will receive your name tag and bunk assignment at the Dining Hall when you arrive. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase camp mementos and vote on the Circle Board ballot if you haven’t already done so online. Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and dinner will be at 7:00 PM.
Volunteering & Donations
Want to give back to Circle? We are still looking for help with a few Circle weekend activities. Are you good at starting fires? If so, we are looking for someone to take charge of building a campfire Saturday night. Are you good at leading people in song and interested in leading Havdalah Saturday night? Or, did you love camp cookery and you want to host a Saturday afternoon activity? If any of these tasks appeal to you, please contact Jennie Cohen at jenniec@camplouisecircle.org.
We are also looking for quality donations for the raffle. Donations may include items such as gift cards, themed baskets, tickets, and Camp Louise memorabilia. If you have a special skill or service that you are willing to offer (ie: Babysititng, tutoring, massage, design, etc.) IOU coupons will also be accepted in the raffle. This year we will incorporate mystery items to fit the theme.

New Inductees – Shabbat Choir
All new inductees are invited to be in the Shabbat Choir on Friday night. When you arrive, please check in with Melanie Blatt to be in the choir.
Havdalah Saturday Night
1999, 2009, and other CITs groups celebrating milestone reunions will be invited on stage to lead us in Havdalah!
Towels, Sheets, Blankets- Oh my!
Participants are responsible for all pillows, linens, blankets, and towels during the weekend. Don’t forget to pack for cold weather! If you are traveling from far away and need help finding sheets/etc. to use at Reunion, or if you can bring extra sheets/etc. for someone to borrow, please email Jennie Cohen at jenniec@camplouisecircle.org. Also, check the forecast and make sure you have cold weather gear and rain gear if you’ll need it.
Activities
We’ll give you a detailed agenda when you arrive at Reunion, but here’s a quick run-down of the activities you should expect to see at Reunion.
Friday Night
Shabbat Dinner – Shabbat will start at 7PM, led by Melanie Blatt and our inductee choir. White clothing is optional.
Folkdancing – Camp’s 2019 folkdance department head, Melanie Gnatt, will be hosting an evening of folkdancing in the Social Hall.
Oneg – Jonathan & Amy will host an Oneg in the cottage after folkdancing. Enjoy some snacks and some history!
Trivia – Lisa Yarmis and Sheryl Cooper will introduce a new evening activity, trivia in the Dining Hall. The theme is obviously “Mystery!”
Saturday
Early bird camp tour – Meet Andie Snyder at the flagpole for a morning tour of what’s new at camp and highlights from this past summer.
Saturday Morning Services – Join us in Solarium for services with Rabbi Elissa Sachs-Kohen
Circle Photo – Meet in Solarium for the annual Circle photo.
Town Hall Meeting – Join us in Social Hall for the 20TH ANNUAL TOWN HALL to talk about how Circle can better serve its membership – you! Email topics to Reesa Pearlman by Friday, September 19.
Arts & Crafts activities – As always we will have DIY Tie Dye available in Arts & Crafts. Please remember to bring a white T-shirt. Also Sherry Cohen will lead a jewelry making workshop. Please bring any costume jewelry or beads you wish to recycle into someone new!
Medium Group Reading – Barb Visher will be offering a group reading Saturday afternoon for those who wish to join.
Yoga – Sherry Rubin will be hosting yoga at Pen Mar Park. Meet outside of the White House to walk over together. Yoga mats will be provided.
Cookery – Delicious Mystery treats in our favorite activity spot!
Farm Harvest – Visit the farm and snag some fresh herbs or seeds to take home.
Sing Down – Break into groups and compete in listing as many songs as you can based on a single word (chosen by our host, Lauren Winiker Kaplan).
Talent Show & Havdalah– Start practicing your talent now! We’ll be hitting the big stage at Jill’s Place with a show starring YOU; hosted by Jennifer Falik Rains! Stick around for Havdalah before wrapping up the evening at the Campfire.
Campfire – Meet us at Jr. Campfire to roast marshmallows and sing our favorite camp tunes led by Mar Abramowitz.
Sunday
Breakfast & Cleanup – Hit the road with a full belly by noon! But before leaving, please help us clean. There are usually tours with prospective families after Circle Reunion, so we want to make sure they don’t find anything weird like bottle caps or leftover snacks.
Donate to Circle
As you can imagine, Circle Reunion is one of the largest expenses of the year for Circle. Now’s the time to consider making a gift.
- General Circle Fund – Your donation goes towards year-round activities, Circle Reunion, gifts to camp, and special projects.
- Reunion Scholarship Fund – Give a Circle sister or brother the opportunity to come to Reunion at a discounted cost.
- License Plates– Show your camp pride on the road.
- Dedication Plaques/Leaves – Leave a legacy in honor or memory of someone special from Circle around Camp.
Circle Board Voting
Voting will be open online until September 17, and in-person voting will take place at Circle Reunion on Friday, September 20 until 8:30pm. New Board members will be announced at the Town Hall Meeting during Circle Reunion on Saturday, September 22. If you have any questions about the nominations or voting process, contact Randi Moody at randim@camplouisecircle.org. Don’t forget to vote for your board members!
